Short synopsis
Nozomi has built her identity around drawing. As AI enters her working life, an argument over tools becomes a crisis of trust, livelihood, and authorship. TEGAKI is an AI-assisted animated short about an artist wondering whether AI makes her less of an artist.
Long synopsis
For Nozomi, drawing is both a profession and a way of knowing herself. Her childhood friend Mia sees new tools as a way to open creative possibilities, but their different views put a shared history under strain. Inside the studio, production pressure makes the question harder to keep at a distance. Outside it, hostility toward AI art turns a disagreement about process into a judgment of the person making the work. Caught between what she has learned by hand and what she is being asked to adopt, Nozomi must consider what it means to call an image her own. Made with an AI-assisted process, TEGAKI explores that contradiction through a personal story about creative labor and trust.
